2021-08-15: 75th Independence Day Celebration Event
15th August, is a day full of pride for all of us, as it is our Independence Day. This year being the celebration of the 75th Independence Day, was done in a very unique style. Cdr Shailendra Sathawane (Retd.), a Naval veteran with 21 years of glorious service in the Technical Cadre of Indian Navy, was invited as a guest of honour for gracing the event. He was rewarded the prestigious Chief of the Naval staff commendation and Commander-in-Chief commendation medal, during his service tenure in the Indian Navy.
Cdr Shailendra has done his post-graduation in Thermal Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai and pursued MBA thereafter. Cdr Shailendra shared his experiences whilst serving the nation during his tenure in the Indian Navy and gave us very good lessons on leadership and team spirit. He emphasized on how proper planning and decision making holds a critical value for the operations. An overview on how the Navy functions and the role it plays during the war times was given. It was indeed a very insightful experience for us to hear the life of a Defence officer and we can truly say that we are indebted to all our Forces for ensuring our safety and security!!
