Nearly half of the world's population was at risk of malaria. Some population groups are at considerably higher risk of contracting malaria, and developing severe disease, than others. These include infants, children under 5 years of age, pregnant women and patients with HIV/AIDS, as well as non-immune migrants, mobile populations and travellers. Early diagnosis and treatment of malaria should take place within 24 h of the onset of symptoms. However, delay in malaria diagnosis and treatment is a major problem. QDx Malaria test can help clinicians to reduce the risk caused by malarial parasite by quickly diagnosing the type of infection followed by immediate treatment.
