QDx S Typhi IgG/IgM

Typhoid fever caused by Salmonella typhi continues to be a major public health problem in developing countries. Accurate diagnosis of typhoid fever at and early stage is not only important for etiological diagnosis but to identify, treat the potential carriers and prevent acute typhoid fever outbreaks. The conventional WIDAL test usually detects antibodies to Salmonella typhi in the patient sample from the second week of the onset of symptoms. However the detection may be earlier if specific IgM antibodies are detected IgG and IgM or both IgG/ IgM.
